Sucker Gigging in Missouri

A classic Ozark night-fishing experience for all ages and skill levels

What Is Sucker Gigging?

Sucker gigging is a long-standing Ozark Mountain tradition that offers a fun, hands-on night fishing experience the whole family can enjoy. Using a gig pole—sometimes reaching up to 20 feet long—you’ll target sucker fish and carp from a boat under powerful LED lights that illuminate the clear, shallow winter waters.

Very little experience is required. If you can hold a gig pole, you can gig fish. Our guides teach proper technique, positioning, and safety before putting you on fish, making this an excellent option for first-timers and experienced anglers alike.

Absolutely one of the best experiences we've ever had. Derek and Tiffany were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and patient. None of us had ever gone bow fishing before but with Derek and Tiffany's help we were all catching fish. A wonderful experience all around and family friendly. I would recommend Firehouse Bowfishing to everyone

I cannot recommend Derek and his wife enough for a bow fishing trip on the Ozarks. He was patient and encouraging, taking time to move to different locations to put us on the fish. This was our first time bow fishing and I will definitely be back for another adventure. Thank you, Derek, for your service as a firefighter! We always love supporting our First Responders!

We didn’t do a tour, but I want to give a shoutout to the guy and gal who turned around near Joe’s Crab a shack to let my 19 month old see the boat better. That was just super cool and leads me to believe this company will go above and beyond to ensure you and your group/family have a memorable experience. If we ever find ourselves back in Branson, we will definitely book a tour with them! Thanks guys! You rock!

Wow! My son and I just got back from a great Bowfishing trip at Lake of the Ozarks with this outfitter. The action was great and we landed a good number and of really nice fish! Derek and his wife/deckhand Tiffany were first rate in every way. They were knowledgeable, patient and seemed invested in making sure we were successful and comfortable . They were also very friendly, but weren’t the type that made the trip about them. I will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know!
